Hi there, I'm Miguel
I am a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Porto, Portugal.
A few years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Portugal wasn’t on the long-term radar. As with many international postings, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were intense — unfamiliar systems, routines, and expectations. Daily tasks felt more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Over time, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Sunset Verdant Daisy
Most online information fell into either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap with practical guidance drawn from real-life experiences in Portugal.
